7661 MD Fenton Mother and Child Vase
Fenton rose velvet sand carved mother and child vase from the 1984 Connoisseur Collection. Limited to 750.
According to author John Walk:
”In 1983, Fenton developed a line of limited production pieces and a special line to market them, which was christened the Connoisseur Collection. It proved to be a major success and is still running strong today. Each year, approximately five to eight items, in several different colors and treatments, were featured in this line. This was the only time that these pieces would be made in this line and color. Each piece was limited in number and had a Certificate of Authenticity to go with it.
The first year, Rose Quartz was introduced. It met with such success that two other pieces, in variations of Rose Quartz, were introduced the following year. All these items (and the Candy Jar in Blue Burmese, along with any of the Burmese items) made in 1983 and 1985 are in big demand and command high prices.”
