6580 CR Fenton Cranberry Heart Optic Perfume
This is a Fenton cranberry opalescent perfume with heart optic.
Made for Fenton’s Sentiment Collection, Valentine’s Day 1992.
From Fenton’s 1993 Sentiments Collection brochure:
”Cranberry Opalescent
Heart Optic
These special Valentine's limited editions begin with Gold Ruby glass made with pure gold. It is encased in a layer of French Opalescent glass and then blown into an optic mould to provide the heart pattern. The heart pattern protrudes and when reheated, the outer portions of the pattern receive more heat than the sunken areas, causing the molecules to grow and turn white. The piece is then reheated and blown into the final forming mould.”
From John Walk’s fenton Glass Compendium:
”First issued in 1992 as part of the Sentiments collection for Valentines Day, the Heart Optic pattern in Cranberry has become a favorite of Fenton Collectors. Each piece was issued for that year only, and was only available for several months at the beginning of each year. Those pieces quickly were snatched up by collectors and are now quite scarce today. ”
Measures approximately 7 inches tall.
