5270 WA Fenton Rosalene Ballerina
This is a beautiful Fenton Rosebuds on Rosalene ballerina.
Made in 1998.
”Professional ballerina Natalie Fenton was Jon Saffell’s inspiration for the design of the mound used for this Rosalene figurine.”
“Natalie
This handmade glass ballerina was inspired by Natalie Fenton.
She is the great granddaughter of F.L. Fenton who founded Fenton Art Glass in 1905.
Natalie began dancing in 1981 at age 5 and has been passionate about her art ever since. She spent her high school years at the North Carolina School of the Arts where she received professional training. She has taken classes with the Hungarian National Ballet
Academy and The Rock School of Ballet. Her professional experience includes work with the North Carolina Dance Theatre, Indianapolis Ballet Theatre and the Milwaukee Ballet.
Natalie, her parents Mike and Kathy, and all of the Fenton family are pleased to celebrate the art of ballet in this sculpture designed by Jon Saffell.”
From the Fenton Spring 1998 catalog:
“Prized by collectors for its lovely white-to-rose shading and its formula ontaining pure gold, Fenton's Rosalene takes center stage for Spring 1998. Four intricate collectibles capture lots of attention and will create stunning displays in gift shops - and
on Fenton collectors’ vanities.
Designed by Robin Spindler.“
Ironically, she has a little problem with balance, so I would definitely be careful displaying her, maybe even a little museum putty just in case.
Measures a little over 6 inches tall.
